Eddie Jones is continuing to build his England coaching team with the RFU announcing Ian Peel will serve as scrum coach for the RBS 6 Nations, while also joining Saracens on a permanent basis.

Peel will leave his position as an international performance coach with the RFU and England's Under-20 head coach in order to take up his new role.

As part of the continuing collaborative approach between Saracens and the RFU, the former Newcastle Falcons player will have a part-time role in Eddie Jones' coaching team for the upcoming RBS 6 Nations campaign.

Peel said: "I have been coaching within the RFU pathway for the last six years so this is a huge chance to go and coach senior players at a quality club that performs at the highest level domestically and in Europe.

"I have no doubt it will be great environment to work in and there are a number of players who I have worked with within the England age-group set-up like Maro Itoje, George Kruis and Mako Vunipola.

"I am really looking forward to getting involved in the day-to-day and the hands-on coaching every week."

On the chance to work with new England coach Jones, Peel said: "This is a huge opportunity and I am really looking forward to getting stuck in with lots of the guys who I have worked with through the age-group teams but also when I have gone in and helped Graham Rowntree over the last few seasons.

"It is a huge honour to go and deliver that for the seniors and joining up with Eddie, Steve Borthwick, Paul Gustard and the rest of the team."

Peel's appointment at Saracens offsets the Aviva Premiership club's impending loss of Paul Gustard, who will join Jones' England set-up in the new year.

The RFU did not indicate if Peel's role would continue beyond the Six Nations which runs from February 6 to March 19.

The 39-year-old has been involved in the England Under-20 programme since 2013, firstly as an assistant coach, winning back-to-back Junior World Championship titles in 2013 and 2014 as well as reaching the final last year.

The age-group squad also won the Under 20 Six Nations title in 2015 and were runners up in 2014, narrowly missing out on the Grand Slam to France.

Jon Callard will head up the Under-20s programme for the 2016 Six Nations and will be assisted by forwards coach Peter Walton and backs coach Rory Teague, who will move from coaching with Saracens Academy to become an RFU International Performance Coach.
