England prop Dan Cole is remaining positive of securing qualification for the World Cup quarter-finals

Dan Cole says England must call on their experience to deliver a winning performance in Saturday's crucial World Cup Pool A clash with Australia.

Stuart Lancaster's side threw away a 10-point lead in their clash with Wales at Twickenham last Saturday to lose 28-25, leaving their hopes of qualification to the knockout stage hanging firmly in the balance.

England will take to the west London turf again for their game with the Wallabies, knowing realistically that a defeat will end their campaign at the group stage.

Prop Cole, one of England's better performers against Wales, believes his side must take their chances and not get frustrated in what will be a high pressure environment.

"We've just got to understand, without getting too het up, what's on the line. We have to put that into our work and do it," the 28-year-old told Sky Sports News HQ

"We were the better team for 60 minutes against Wales, if not for 70 minutes, but we have to replicate that and go for the whole 80 and show our experience.

"We have got take our chances when we get them and do a better job of when we are in the opposition 22 than what we did against Wales because Australia will not give us many opportunities.

"But we have to prepare how we normally do, without outside distractions. You just want to get out there and play.

"You understand what's on the line and I can't wait for Saturday."
