The Aviva Premiership salary cap will remain at a base level of £7m for three successive seasons from next year.
It was announced last October that the current cap of £6.5m will increase by £500,000 for the 2017-18 season.
And it will then remain at the same figure in 2018-19 and 2019-20, Premiership Rugby said on Thursday.
A decision to retain the £7m salary cap was made unanimously by Premiership Rugby board directors.
Each Premiership club can spend up to the salary cap maximum on their playing budget.
Additionally, clubs can have two so-called marquee players, whose salaries are not part of the cap.
"We have a very strong and highly-competitive league," Premiership Rugby chief executive Mark McCafferty said.
"Setting the salary cap framework through to the next Rugby World Cup season allows the clubs to plan ahead with certainty, as well as underpinning the continued delivery of financial viability and the clubs' investment in all parts of the professional game.
"This investment will help ensure the English game thrives at club and country level, and that we achieve domestic, European and international success."
