Wales have recalled Rhys Webb into their squad ahead of the potential Championship title decider against England at Twickenham on Saturday.

The Ospreys scrum-half has not played for his country since September 2015 when he damaged an ankle in a World Cup warm-up match against Italy and was ruled out of the tournament.

Webb made his comeback for Ospreys in the Pro12 in mid-February and has impressed in his three matches including a solid performance in their loss to Leinster on Saturday.

However, former Scotland scrum-half Rory Lawson says playing in the Six Nations is a completely different level to playing in the PRO12 and that Webb needs more time.

"It's a tough one to manage, for me it is probably a game or two to early," said Lawson on the Rugby Club Wrap-Up.

"Particularly to go to Twickenham and play England in what could prove to be the Championship decider.

"Rhys Webb has got a bundle of experience and a bundle of ability but he has also been through a long rehab stint. The difference between playing in the PRO12 during a Six Nations period and Six Nations is vast.

"I think for Webb it is a week or two too early particularly with Gareth Davies such a driving force for Wales and they have Lloyd Williams on the bench - he is another quality operator. In these two guys Wales have two players who have experienced recent victory at Twickenham over England.

"I don't think Gatland will rush him back and will stick with what he has got."
