Fiji welcome back Leicester Tigers winger Vereniki Goneva after a visa issue forced him to miss their Test against France in Marseille last weekend.

Goneva is now available for selection against Wales with Ospreys centre Josh Matavesi also returning to the squad as he prepares to lock horns with his regional team-mates.

Head coach John McKee confirmed the duo have joined the rest of the squad in Cardiff ahead of the match at the Millennium Stadium and reported no fresh injury concerns after their outing in the South of France.

Former Sevens star Goneva, who can occupy either centre or wing berth, scored 12 tries on his way to being the Aviva Premiership’s top try-scorer last season, and has already scored four league tries this season.

We arrived in Cardiff after a long travel from Marseille and woke up to a showery morning, much colder than what we had faced in the South of France.

Matavesi, who swapped relegated Worcester Warriors for the Ospreys in the summer, has been an integral part of the Guinness PRO12 league leaders’ perfect start after seven rounds.

"Josh Matavesi has rejoined the squad following injury and Vereniki Goneva has also joined the squad," McKee said. "Goneva was unable to travel to France last week due to late issue of his visa."

Fiji produced some entertaining play in patches against France, but were unable to avoid a heavy 40-15 defeat at the hands of Les Bleus.

McKee and his coaching staff have reviewed Saturday's defeat to France and understand any mistakes at Test level will be punished.

"We arrived in Cardiff after a long travel from Marseille and woke up to a showery morning, much colder than what we had faced in the South of France," added McKee.

"At Test match level against Tier One nations, we need to be at our very best in all aspects of the game to be competitive.

"Everything counts at this level of the game and, as we saw last week, good teams take their opportunity when they get it, and will punish mistakes."
