Tigers fly-half focuses on result after beating Gloucester

England star fly-half Toby Flood insists the result is all that counts following Leicester's 33-11 ousting of Gloucester. Flood slotted four penalties and three conversions as well as being instrumental in two tries en route to Tigers' convincing win, which keeps them at the top of the Guinness Premiership standings. Scrum-half Ben Youngs posted the last of three touchdowns for Leicester following earlier tries from winger Lote Tuqiri and full-back Geordan Murphy. The Tigers pack were in control throughout, with Italian tight-head prop Martin Castrogiovanni and loose-head Marcos Ayerza heaping trouble on the Gloucester front row.

Result

"We got a great result and that is all that matters at this time of the season. We would like to have played better and won with more authority," said Flood. "The pack went very well and we did some all right stuff but I think the large part of it was the turnover count. There were a lot of mistakes." Flood was grateful to start for his club this weekend after being on the bench for England's victory over Italy last Sunday. "It is always frustrating to be on the bench and no player wants to be there," he added. "So it was good to get some game time although it is difficult to switch your mind back up to Leicester." Leicester head coach Richard Cockerill was satisfied with the general performance given by his side. "Overall, I'm very pleased. The boys did some good things and it's a good result," said Cockerill. "Our tries were well taken although we will have to have a look at some of the penalties we gave away."
Outplayed
Gloucester managed just one try courtesy of young centre Jonny May, and assistant coach Denis Betts admits they were outplayed by the home side. "We came here with confidence. We have been working exceptionally hard recently to get the results and get us back into some form," said Betts. "Then you come to this place, you come with hope and with ambition but you have to perform and today they outperformed us."
