Ryan Wilson has backed Scotland to end their winless run in Wales when they begin their Six Nations campaign on Saturday.
The Scotland squad only contains three players - John Barclay, Scott Lawson and Richie Gray - who have won Six Nations matches outside of Edinburgh or Rome, and none who have won in Cardiff.
Scotland's winless run in Wales stretches back to 2002, but Glasgow flanker Wilson thinks they can end their poor record in Cardiff when the Six Nations begins this weekend.
He said: "Winning in Cardiff has not been done for a while so it's a significant thing but we've got confidence. It's a huge start and we have to make sure we go down there and do it.
"The guys in the team can quickly forget about what's happened in the past because we've got a confidence about us at the moment. We know we can go out and win.
"Forget about all that stuff from years ago, we're just trying to focus on the now."
Scotland have never won the Six Nations, with their last title coming in 1999, when the tournament only contained five teams.
However, under new head coach Gregor Townsend, they beat Australia home and away in 2017, and also pushed world champions New Zealand close when they hosted them at Murrayfield.
Wilson believes those results show Scotland can be a force in this year's Six Nations, saying: "We were always that team that nearly did it.
"Then we started getting results where we'd grind them out. Now we've become a team that's doing better.
"The All Blacks game was different. We should have won that match but we're not a team that's thinking 'oh, we lost but we did well' - we're a team thinking 'we'll win this game' and we're starting to do that."
