Todd Blackadder says Jonathan Joseph's game has developed over the last few weeks while the Bath centre is pleased with his form

Bath coach Todd Blackadder is backing Jonathan Joseph to force his way into the England squad for the autumn internationals.

Eddie Jones left Joseph out of his England training squad last month but the centre has since scored two tries in three games.

Bath face Benetton Treviso in their Champions Cup opener on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Arena from 5.25pm, and Blackadder is expecting Joseph to continue his good form.

"There has been a massive change in JJ this year," Blackadder told Sky Sports News.

"He has been exceptional at this club. He has been leading behind the scenes, brilliant on the field, going back through his games and looking for ways that he can be better.

"In the last couple of weeks he has actually developed. We know that he is really good defensively and has added a real attacking threat to his game. And he's scored a couple of really good tries. I think Eddie will be encouraged by that.

"We know that JJ has been around for a long time but he's still a very young man and has got a lot to offer.
