Former England kit man Dave Tennison is appealing the RFU's decision to sack him after players lost money on his business recommendation.

Tennison was dismissed after some of England's World Cup squad took his advice to invest in oil drilling firm LGO Energy, only for the company to take a dramatic drop in value.

The 55-year-old, who was part of the England staff since 2002, has contested the RFU's decision and the appeal process is ongoing.

England are unlikely to resolve the issue in time for the arrival of new coach Eddie Jones, who is unable to start his job due to delays in acquiring a work visa.

Jones was supposed to begin work in England on Tuesday but has remained in Tokyo as his visa application is yet to be approved.

Jones was appointed Stuart Lancaster's successor on November 20 after leaving the Stormers, where he had only taken charge as head coach in September.
