France boss Philippe Saint-Andre has dropped Mathieu Bastareaud for Saturday night's World Cup quarter-final against New Zealand in Cardiff.
The midfield battering ram drops to the bench, with Racing Metro's Alexandre Dumoulin starting alongside Wesley Fofana.
Morgan Parra gets the nod at scrum-half ahead of Sebastien Tillous-Borde, who drops out of the squad altogether.
There is one change in the pack from their last game - the 24-9 defeat to Ireland - with Bernard Le Roux recalled as the openside flanker in place of Damien Chouly, who begins the game on the bench.
Coach Philippe Saint-Andre: "We're ready for a huge combat against New Zealand, we will need to improve in the rucks and take a lot more individual initiative. If we want to beat New Zealand we have to play the French way."
Parra and fly-half Frederic Michalak have not started together for two-and-a-half years.
Explaining the decision to go with Parra ahead of Tillous-Borde, Saint-Andre said: "Why Morgan? Everyone knows him, he's a great competitor. We know that he has leadership qualities."
Rory Kockott comes on to the bench as backup scrum-half because of his kicking ability.
"We weren't happy with our bench against Ireland, they didn't do enough," Saint-Andre said.
