You would suspect Warren Gatland's British and Irish Lions XV for the second Test against New Zealand is virtually decided, but has Courtney Lawes staked a late claim for inclusion on the back of his strong display against the Hurricanes?
Perhaps with an eye on Saturday's Test against the All Blacks, the Northampton lock was withdrawn after 55 minutes at Wellington's Westpac Stadium with the Lions seemingly on their way to victory in their final midweek outing of the tour.
Lawes managed to leave a mark during his cameo, making 10 carries and eight tackles as his trademark uncompromising defence was supplemented by frequently venturing over the gainline.
Following Lawes' withdrawal, the tourists would go on to surrender a 14-point lead in the final 12 minutes as they were held to a thrilling 31-31 draw by the reigning Super Rugby champions.
The setback did little to deter from Lawes' display though, with Sky Sports pundits Sir Ian McGeechan and Sean Fitzpatrick unanimous in backing Lawes to play a role against the All Blacks.
"Gatland has probably got Lawes in his sights," Lions legend McGeechan said. "I would have him on the bench.
"I still think the Maro Itoje-George Kruis combination is a good one to start with, particularly with Jamie George at hooker.
"I think both Lawes and Iain Henderson, who too was excellent against the Hurricanes, should be on the bench."
Former All Blacks captain Fitzpatrick went one further, claiming Lawes' tenacity at the breakdown could prove crucial in the Lions' quest to level the Test series.
He added: "Lawes would offer an aggressive at the breakdown like no other in that opening 20 to 30 minutes, where the All Blacks build pressure and get their game going.
"If you can stop that, the All Blacks won't get that momentum and scrumhalf Aaron Smith will be unable to apply the continuous pressure we saw in the first Test.
"You need people at the breakdown that are going to throw their bodies into it and unsettle the All Blacks, and Lawes fits the bill."
