Second row forward Willie Mason has been released from his contract at Catalans Dragons.
The 36-year-old, who has been capped 24 times by Australia, had been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an avulsion fracture and ankle ligament tears.
Mason, who has also represented New South Wales in the annual State of Origin, joined Dragons in February and scored one try in 14 appearances for the Perpignan club.
Club chief executive Christophe Jouffret said: "It is bad news to see Willie ruled out for the rest of the season with a bad injury.
"He had a fantastic career in the different clubs he played for and on the international stage with New South Wales, Tonga and Australia.
"He will remain among the great players who have worn the Catalans Dragons jersey. and we would like to wish him all the best for the future. "
