Zak Hardaker is set to complete his move away from Leeds Rhinos next week, with Super League clubs his preference.

The former 'Man of Steel' spent a spell on loan at Australian club Penrith Panthers in the NRL, and was placed on the transfer list in the summer.

Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington told the Yorkshire Post: "If nothing at all was to happen, he would come back to training, but from the day he went on the transfer list the clear intent was for 2017 he would be with another club.

"As it happened, the arrangement with Penrith came off, but the clear intent for 2017 was that Zak would be furthering his career with another club."

Leeds will start preparations for the 2017 season next week, but it looks unlikely Hardaker will take part.

Huddersfield Giants have been reportedly linked with a move for the full-back along with Castleford, and Hetherington said he expects a Super League club to sign him.

"It is likely by the end of the week an arrangement will be put in place," Hetherington said. "The interest is from Super League clubs."
