England international Leroy Cudjoe has been appointed as Huddersfield's new captain for 2017.

The 28-year-old centre, who has been with his home-town club since 2008, is the choice of coach Rick Stone to take over from Australian Ryan Hinchcliffe, who becomes one of three vice-captains.

Cudjoe said: "It's great to be named captain and a very proud moment for me in my career.

"It was a shock when Rick asked me but it was something I was keen on doing and it's even better that it's my home-town club, a place where I grew up and live."
