Salford City Reds advanced into the Challenge Cup fifth round with a 68-2 success over Hunslet at South Leeds Stadium.
The result was never in doubt after the Super League side opened the scoring through Luke Adamson in the 13th minute.
Paul March, the Hawks' player-coach, went into the game claiming his men had nothing to lose against Super League opposition and hooker Richard Chapman was held just short of the Salford line in a bright opening by the home side who cared little for reputations.
Salford survived when John Oakes and Tommy Haughey were held over the line on their backs but the Hawks could not make their possession count and loose forward Adamson shrugged off Danny Grimshaw's attempted tackle to barge over for the Reds' first try.
Daniel Holdsworth added the goal and three minutes later his pass sent giant Kiwi forward Iafeta Palea'aesina bulldozing his way to the line, Holdsworth again succeeding with the kick.
Salford full-back Luke Patten, who had shown a willingness to join his three-quarters, left the field with a shoulder injury, Stefan Ratchford switching from centre to plug the gap, but tries by Adam Neal and Lee Jewitt in a six-minute spell delivered further blows to the Co-op Championship side, with Holdsworth converting Jewitt's touchdown.
Danny Ratcliffe's successful penalty ensured the Hawks put some points on the board but Salford led 22-2 at the break and were soon adding to their score after the restart.
Capitulated
The Hunslet cover tacklers were nowhere to be seen as Adamson strolled in for his second try of the game, Holdsworth landing a towering conversion from the touchline.
Hunslet simply capitulated as winger Jodie Broughton scored two tries, Ratchford raced the length of the field to touch down and Chris Nero and Adam Clay also grabbed tries before Palea'aesina crossed for his second of the afternoon.
Holdsworth landed six goals in the match before handing over the responsibility to Ratchford who succeeded with three conversions.
Hunslet winger Stuart Kain almost squeezed in at the corner on a rare trip into the Salford half and Tommy Haughey had a try disallowed, but the Hawks could take little consolation from the game.
Clay scored his second try just before the end, Matty Smith adding the goal.
