The form of this maiden is often worth following and there are some nice prospects in today’s line-up who have already shown signs of ability. Newbury runner-up Beat Le Bon, Yarmouth third Barys and Chelmsford second Indomitable are preferred in that order while Commanding Officer is improving with experience. Voltaic was very green at Windsor in June and newcomers George Mallory and Caplin are worth a market check. But the latter’s stablemate SKY DEFENDER (NAP) looks the one to be on given he ran a more-experienced rival to half-a-length over this trip at Goodwood when the first two pulled well clear. The Johnston inmate has some fancy entries this autumn and can give his trainer back-to-back victories in this.
