MOONRISE LANDING won a Newmarket handicap over 1m4f in October and has since completed a hat-trick over two miles on the all-weather including the all-weather marathon championship. She's probably capable of further progress and looks the one to beat. Angel Gabrial hasn't won since landing the 2014 Northumberland Plate but has a couple of narrow defeats in Listed company behind him and ran a good race when third in this a year ago when Elidor, who was nowhere near his best, was beaten a long way. The latter ran a superb race in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester and is greatly respected. Quest For More won last year's Northumberland Plate with Angel Gabrial in fourth but hasn't been seen since a fine run in the Melbourne Cup in November.
