      Verdict

      Abraham Lincoln was highly tried on his debut at a time when the yard's horses were badly out of form but Aidan O'Brien's string are very much in form now and he should be too good for his main rivals here who look to be the newcomers Silkie Smooth and Sadeek. The last mentioned is a son of Kyllachy trained by Kevin Ryan, who did well with his two-year-olds last term and again has his string in good order, so he has to be respected. Mark Johnston's Autograph Hunter appeals on pedigree but the yard's youngsters normally improve with racing, while Gallows Hill looks the pick of Richard Fahey's two runners ahead of Alberts Story but they are hardly known for their great success with first time out youngsters. The Barry Hills-trained Silkie Smooth should go on the ground, being by Barathea, but she may also want further and a better bet looks to be Abraham Lincoln, who can make his experience tell especially now that the yard of Aidan O'Brien is among the winners.
