Woodcraft did little wrong on his debut and can land the finale at the expense of Spice Route and Spume. The selection was in winning form at Warwick when getting the better of Stark Contrast. He did that well on his first visit to a track so looks a horse with a bright future. Spice Route improved from his debut at Newmarket to win at Haydock last time out. He ran all the way to the line that day and looked a horse who knows his job so any market moves should be noted. Spume won his maiden at Salisbury at the back end of last season but looked very much in need of his first outing when finishing nearer last than first at Sandown. He was not knocked about that day and with the ease in the ground might play into his hands so is worth noting. But for the winner we return to Woodcraft.
