With so little to go on other than pedigree and trainer form, this is not an easy race to assess, and with nothing looking outstanding on pedigree it might pay to side with JULIET CAPULET to put her experience to good use, while Elzaam and Windward Islands are the most interesting of the newcomers. The selection, an inmate at Ballydoyle, made a quiet enough debut at Naas last month when beaten almost seven lengths. The filly looks better suited to this 6f than the minimum trip and she should have come on for the run, so the percentage call is to side with her. Elzaam is by a winner over 6-8f in Australia, and has a similar sort of profile on his dam's side, so today's trip will be sharp enough for him, although with the yard in good form he is likely to be straight enough to go well. Windward Islands more than halved in price from 125,000 guineas to 52,000, which is a bit of a concern, though he is the best bred for this given that his dam Dominica was top class over 5f and won the King's Stand. In spite of those sales figures, he looks a serious contender here. Paul Cole is just getting going and he saddles Tinkertown, who looks bred to do well over further and probably with cut in the ground, so he may have to wait for other days. Sir Reginald is by July Cup winner Compton Place, who relished a sound or fast surface, so he is respected, while Jibaal has the profile of one who will improve for this run and may be one for the future. The experience of Juliet Capulet just earns her the nomination in an informative contest.
