Verdict

The 1000 Guineas comes under the spotlight here with Barefoot Lady, who finished a decent fifth at Newmarket after being supplemented. There's no doubt she's the form pick but had a hard race in the classic and is by no means certain to stay this trip on breeding. Amazing Beauty has the advantage of scoring at around this trip but that was at Dundalk and the runner-up has been well beaten since. Joviality is coming along nicely and this step-up in distance is just what she requires while the Japan-bred Whey Sauce is an interesting contender who didn't get much chance to shine in her first season. Henry Cecil has won this twice in the past four years and can make it three with ARIZONA JEWEL, a daughter of Dansili out of Lancashire Oaks winner Rainbow Lake. She looked a very nice prospect when scoring at Sandown and there is much more to come.
