Verdict
A number of these ran in last year's renewal with George Bowen, who started favourite, doing best. Richard Fahey also runs the three-year-old Mayfair Lady, who is a previous course and distance winner, and she can’t be ignored. Roudee won the Great St Wilfrid consolation at Ripon and then the Ayr Silver Cup but only beat GET KNOTTED half-a-length in the latter race and the runner-up may well reverse the form here on better terms. Michael Dods' sprinter never seems to run a bad race and looks sure to give supporters a run for their money again so gets a tentative vote in a wide-open contest in which most would have some sort of chance. Captain Colby won the Portland at Doncaster last month but Hoofalong, Pipers Note and Lexington Abbey were close up. Intisaab, Hoof It, Normandy Barriere and Mythmaker all arrive in good form but Sir Robert Cheval and Red Pike have become hard to predict.
