Verdict

The Noseda team is enjoying a splendid run and it would not surprise to see RIO GRANDE return from a 99-day absence to add to the stable tally. Clearly well-regarded, he was strongly supported second-time up in a decent Newmarket maiden won by Democretes and was still only beaten a length and a half. This looks a nice return opportunity for the son of Invincible Spirit. Pea Shooter returned from an absence to deliver a mid-division finish behind Gusto at Haydock and should be cherry-ripe as a result. Paul Hanagan chooses newcomer Lisiere in preference to promising stable companion Personal Touch and she can't be ignored, especially if the market speaks in her favour.
