In depth

Verdict

Wild Desert was due to run in the finale here yesterday and will carry an extra 7lb in this if successful. He was impressive at Warwick last week but isn't exactly consistent. QUEEN'S STAR stayed on dourly to get up close home at Chepstow at the start of the month. Andrew Balding's filly still looks fairly handicapped off only a 2lb higher mark and will enjoy this long straight so gets the nod. Naburn was third over the trip at Newcastle last time while Bounty Seeker was second at Doncaster 12 days ago and likely to be suited by 2m. Double Cee still has his stamina to prove, however, while maiden Astrogold is likely to find a few of these too good.
