This looks a punting minefield with a host of lightly-raced sorts moving into handicap company having displayed only glimmers of promise hitherto. The one notable exception is HOT MUSTARD who has shown steadily progressive form in three starts this term, culminating in a career-best second to Darkside at Redcar this month. He's actually 1lb lower for that run and brings the most solid credentials to the table. Blackball and Aloha represent yards for whom improvement will be expected with attention turned to handicaps, with the pair preferred in that order as the Lanigan yard are particularly shrewd with such types. Barbsiz and Planchette are others that may well improve on achievements to date.
