Verdict

Welcome Friend is a class act on his day and should prevail if near his best following a short break. Roger Charlton's charge is well treated by the conditions and can make the most of a welcome drop in grade. Torosay Spring was most progressive last term but makes her belated return and may need this while she also has something to find on these terms. Flying Millie looks set to struggle at this level having been beaten in handicaps off marks in the low 90's earlier in the season.
