In depth

Verdict

PHOSPHORESCENCE won the Legends race at Doncaster’s St Leger meeting last year when returning from a lengthy absence. Though a seven-year-old, he’s only had seven career starts and can return from another lay-off to defy top weight in this. Ross Raith Rover was only beaten half-a-length stepping up to this trip at Leicester and shouldn’t be far away. Flying Fantasy has won over a mile at Newmarket and is not at all badly treated so is another to consider. Harlequin Rock has similar credentials and looks the pick of the remainder, though has ground to make up on Ross Raith Rover.
