      Verdict

      Via Egnatia is a half-brother to a 7f Listed winner at two and looks the main danger to FINAL RECKONING's hopes of opening his account at the third time of asking. The Godolphin grey stepped up markedly on his Haydock debut when second in a Class 3 event at York and that form would normally be good enough to win a maiden. Law Power's half-sister Clarentine won twice over a mile but that was as a three-year-old and Sir Mark Prescott's colt may also need more time.
