SEAL OF SOLOMON (NAP) has taken advantage of a lenient handicap mark and he clearly appreciates Yarmouth as those two recent victories suggest. Captain Kane has been on the go for a while but the handicapper may have finally got a grip of him having watched him progress from a mark of 48 since March. Sir Mark Prescott’s team are in decent nick so it would be folly to write off Genesius under the circumstances. Sharp Combo was a fair juvenile and has evidently had issues that have prevented him progressing onward thus far.
Genesius (IRE) 11-2 (9-13) In rear, steady headway over 2f out, asked for effort 2f out, kept on final furlong, never dangerous, 3rd of 5, 3/4l behind Sarsons Risk (9-4) at Leicester 1m 4f hcp (5) gf in Aug.
Iconique 12-1 (9-9) Chased leaders, went 2nd when short of room on inside over 4f out, every chance over 2f out, no impression on winner inside final furlong, lost 2nd towards finish, 4th of 7, 2 1/2l behind Myboymax (9-11) at Yarmouth 1m 6f hcp (5) gf in Jul.
Captain Kane 7-2 (9-2) Tracked leaders, went 2nd over 8f out, ridden and every chance 2f out, kept on same pace, last of 4, 2 1/4l behind Animato (9-6) at Doncaster 1m 4f hcp (4) gf in Jul.
Sharp Combo (IRE) 28-1 (8-13) Towards rear, ridden 2f out, some late headway, never involved, 6th of 10, 4 3/4l behind Hamaki (9-10) at Ascot 1m 4f hcp (3) gf in Aug.
Seal Of Solomon (IRE) 4-9fav (9-11) Dwelt, soon handy, pushed along well over 1f out, ridden and led over 1f out, drifted left inside last, kept on, just did enough, won at Yarmouth 1m 2f hcp (6) gf in Aug beating Craft In Silk (9-9) by 1l, 4 ran.
