    Verdict

    Just five runners but all arrive in decent form. Winter Serenade has had a break since completing a double at Leicester and with just 3lb extra to carry she should make a bold bid to lead all. Captain Navarre has never won but has run his best races on fast ground and found 1m6f stretching his stamina at Chelmsford last time. STAR STORM put a disappointing run at Doncaster behind him to beat Goathland on his first start at around this trip at Haydock. The runner-up easily went one better at Bath on Saturday so the form looks good enough for this. Perceus scored by seven lengths in soft ground at Goodwood but an 11lb rise looks harsh and Sealife looks to have more of a chance after an excellent run in a handicap at this level at Beverley.
