      Verdict

      Several of these were expected do better last time. That list includes Ascot runner-up Mr Quicksilver, who finished last at Goodwood on his latest start, and Sands Chorus, who went close at Ripon only to disappoint at Pontefract. Buckland Beau never figured at Ascot having placed on the all-weather earlier and it remains to be seen if Ban Shoof can build on his recent fourth at Doncaster as he steps up in class. But at least BROROCCO (NAP) has been holding his form and followed a couple of placed efforts with a victory at Newmarket last time. He gets the vote dropping down a grade for this.
