Verdict

Mick Channon runs both Proper and Sweet Lilly, both have form claims, however we will take a chance with the Mark Tompkins trained Novista. A narrow, unfurnished type in the paddock, Novista shaped with some promise when second in a class four event at Goodwood. He looks the type to do better with age and a Derby entry suggests connections feel he has a bright future. Sweet Lilly landed the odds in a modest event here last month, just getting up to beat Persian Fox. There could be more to come and she is getting weight all round. Proper ran well at Chester on Sunday and lloks to have been crying out for this extra frurlong. The field is completed by previous winners Hart Of Gold and Ten Dollars More and both could play a part in the finish, however we think first prize should fall to Novista.
