The usual hotpotch of difficult to win withs, slowcoaches and neer do wells and we will offer a tentative nod the way of Million Percent with Samuel Charles, Singleb and Marvin Gardens all likely to figure in the betting. Million Percent is probably not as useful as he once was but this is his grade and having gone close off a 7lb higher mark at Brighton earlier in the season, he cannot be written off after a moderate run at Kempton last month. Samuel Charles is a regular at this grade. A winner of 16 from 58 on the all-weather, his strike rate on turf is less prolific. Singleb has clearly had problems. His close up run behind Kings Bastion at Redcar is solid form in the context of this affair and the market has to be closely watched. Marvin Gardens is no great shakes. That said, he gave a good account in a similar affair at Brighton against much better horses than himself. Dushstorm won back to back claimers at Kempton in April and while coming down the weights, has been out of form. Leptis Magna was probably overrated in his earlier career by the assessor and is now taking a welcome drop in sights. Ugenius has place claims on a fair second to Elusive Warrior at Southwell. Only A Grand tries hard in spite of an innate lack of ability and is worthy of a mention given the form of the Robin Bastiman yard. Not a race for the housekeeping monies and we are with Million Percent to minimum stakes.
