A low-key finale in which stakes should probably be kept to a minimum. Flash Crash is 4lb better off than when finishing just over two lengths behind Conducting at Warwick. King Of Wing ran his best race for a while when third at Wolverhampton on Monday but is 5lb higher back on Turf while The Ducking Stool has looked vulnerable off higher marks since scoring over course and distance in April. PIERS GAVESTON has been difficult to train but ran a lot better than the bare result suggests in an amateurs' race at Newbury last month and will strip fitter here - he gets the nod.
Piers Gaveston (IRE) 20-1 (10-9) Held up in mid-division, headway and switched right 3f out, stayed on inside final furlong, never going pace to reach leaders, 8th of 14, 4l behind Balmoral Castle (10-3) at Newbury 1m 2f am hcp (0-70) (4yo+) (5) gf in Jun.

Conducting 10-1 (9-2) Tracked leader, took keen hold, led after 2f, ridden over 1f out, kept on well under pressure inside final furlong, won at Warwick 1m 3f hcp 0-65 (6) gd in Jun beating Mr Lando (9-4) by hd, 9 ran.
Flash Crash 10-1 (9-4) Led 2f, chased leader, ridden over 1f out, one pace, 4th of 9, 2 1/4l behind Conducting (9-2) at Warwick 1m 3f hcp 0-65 (6) gd in Jun.
