    Verdict

There is probably not much strength in-depth here and it may be best to concentrate on Floreeda and Alkaased, who both make the short journey from top Newmarket yards. Henry Cecil has not rushed Floreeda and she already shown that there are races to be won with her somewhere along the line. However, she is reluctantly passed over today as she may need more cut in the ground to be seen at her best. So Alkaased just edges the vote today. The Kingmambo colt is sure to appreciate this step up in trip on this sort of ground and he start to pay his way if Richard Hills can settle him into a steady rhythm at an early stage. his connections have been very patient in after purchasing him for $325,000, and he has the first opportunity of the season to reward their faith today. Flame Phoenix, who won a bumper at Ludlow before finishing third on debut on the Flat, will not be found wanting for stamina. But lacks the scope of the two likely market leaders.
