In depth

Verdict

WADACRE GALOUBET would not have been kept in training if not thought capable of adding to his sole victory to date over a similar trip at Southwell. He’s had just the one start on Turf to date so Mark Johnston has plenty to work with. Johnny Kidd placed three times last year between 1m4f and 2m and Oisin Murphy rides. Affluence wins his fair share but looks high enough in the weights at present so Casa Comigo and Dubious Affair make more appeal on this occasion. Bartholomew J won at Chelmsford on the eve of lock-down so also goes on the shortlist along with course and distance winners Bailarico and Hope Is High but Cotton Club struggles to get his head in front.
