Spud comes from a yard having winners at present and is taken to win this with both Pipers Legend and Doubly Sharp worth noting in the betting market. The selection was the winner of a bumper at Worcester last spring before landing a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter in November. His reappearance run was slightly disappointing as he only finished fifth of ten in a handicap at Plumpton when sent off favourite. Having said that the stable were not firing at the stage and with winners coming a plenty form the Hobbs yard now he is worth siding with once more. Pipers Legend showed improvement to run a personal best when second to Ignotus at Chepstow last time out. He was not beaten far that day and another performance like that could see him go well once again. Doubly Sharp looks a young horse on the up grade. He was a good second to Decree Nisi at Kempton last month and it will not be long before he breaks his maiden tag although place prize money looks more within his grasp this time around. So for the winner we return to Spud.
