Fayette County should really have won before now and is facing some potentially useful novices here over a longer trip. The handicapper has taken no chances with Singlefarmpayment and Churchtown Champ is probably more interesting at the weights. He's already won between the flags, though lost his way over hurdles after winning at Taunton in January. ROLL THE DOUGH (NAP) won both starts under Rules last year, including one on this card, building on a progressive profile in point-to-points. He's been kept under the radar so far so will have been hard to assess and may have got in lightly on a mark of 125. Bronco Billy, who won a handicap over hurdles at Huntingdon in April, is another to keep on the right side and he makes more appeal than Man From Seville.
Singlefarmpayment 11-4jfav (11-3) Held up towards rear, blundered badly and last 5th, some headway before 3 out, soon weakened, pulled up before 2 out, at Huntingdon 3m 1f hcp (2) gs in Jan.
Fayette County (IRE) 9-2 (11-3) Chased leaders, led 2 out, headed last, no impression on winner flat, stayed on, 2nd of 10, 3l behind Gabrial The Great (11-6) at Uttoxeter 2m 4f hcp (3) gd in Sep.
Churchtown Champ (IRE) 11-8fav (11-7) Held up towards rear, headway approaching 4 out, hard driven after next, soon weakened, 4th of 6, 23 1/2l behind Aqua Dude (11-7) at Southwell 2m 4f (4) sft in Mar.
Roll The Dough (IRE) 10-11fav (11-5) Made all, jumped left at times, not fluent 4th, pushed clear 2 out, stayed on, won at Exeter 2m 6f (4) sft in Nov beating Thegreendalerocket (10-12) by 6l, 5 ran.
Bronco Billy (IRE) 4-1 (11-12) Not always fluent, tracked leaders, went 2nd 3 out, 4 lengths down 2 out, closed from last, led flat, stayed on well, won at Huntingdon 3m 1f hcp (4) gs in Apr beating Wake Your Dreams (11-7) by 1l, 8 ran.
Man From Seville 9-1 (11-6) Raced keenly tracking leading trio, jumped slowly 4 out, soon weakened, last of 6, 37 3/4l behind Double W's (11-0) at Haydock 2m (4) gd in Mar.
