Verdict

A poor turnout numerically for a nice prize though still competitive. Roman Flight has managed to win eleven times and though not at his best recently has dropped to his lowest mark for over two years. Peter The Mayo Man has won six of 17 starts and has changed stables. Mistakes put paid to his chances when last seen at Kempton in May but he was impressive when landing a novices' chase on his previous start. THEO has won half of his six races over fences including over the course and distance last month for which a 5lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent a follow-up. Dinsdale easily won a novices' handicap on his chasing bow here before making a bold bid at Sedgefield though he's 13lb higher than his victory.
