BLACK ANNIE is selected ahead of Basford Tara and Frosted Grape. Paul Webber's mare seemed to have few issues with fast ground at Market Rasen last month and with Tony McCoy booked, confidence in the camp appears to be pretty high in a race with numbers though lacking quality. Basford Tara can front run and is likely to do so. She ran well in a bumper at the course and belied odds of 40/1 to finish second in a novice contest at Uttoxeter. Frosted Grape has not been able to reproduce her best Irish form though it would be folly to dismiss anything David Pipe sends to the races at present. Singapore Harbour was cheaply bought despite hailing from a good family. Princess Laila has had plenty of chances and now looks vulnerable against improvers. Not the strongest of openers but a solid opportunity for Black Annie to get off the mark over timber.
