Bengo showed some promise over fences when last tried over them and has to be respected along with the reappearing Meggies Gamble, who missed all of last season, but preference is for Rosemauve. David Pipe's gelding disappointed when last seen on his British chase debut but earlier form over hurdles and over fence sin France suggests that was not his true showing and, with the stable back among the winners now, he looks worth a punt. Americanconnection comes from the in-form Ginger McCain stable but needs to improve on all known evidence, while Jonanaud has not progressed as much as may have been expected and he may be best watched now. Pirandello is proving to be difficult to win with, while Poachin Again is probably left out of calculations with the Nicky Henderson yard out of form. The same cannot be said of David Pipe's stable though so his Rosemauve gets the vote.
