Guymur is the selection in a competitive contest, to get the better of Karoo and Syroco. Karoo won a novice contest at Hereford three outings ago and ran very well in handicap company last time, just held close home. He looks in good heart and will be hard to beat. Syroco won back in October and has struggled to score off a new mark since. The handicapper has been unrelenting, and although finishing second last time, was a beaten favourite. Awinner at Newton Abbot on his chasing bow, Guymur ran a good race to be third in a better contest at Perth last time. The ground here should be similar to the Hereford conditions, and Philip Hobbs' runner looks to have a fine chance. Guymur can lead them home.
