Favourites do well in this contest and there is every reason to think that the same will go for Distiller, who gets the vote ahead of Canndar and Runaround Sue. The selection has to give away plenty of weight and punters should consider that before wading in. However, he is generally running very well, he acts on good ground, and he probably had more in hand than the official margin at Bangor last time. The step up in trip will also allow him more time to show his abilities and he can follow up. Runaround Sue was a c&d scorer in June and has risen sharply in the weights as a result. She has to put a poor recent effort behind her here. Lightly-raced Canndar showed promise in Irish bumpers but has yet to show his hand over hurdles since joining Timmy Vaughan. This step up in trip should help him do so. What Luck and Caretta Caretta both have frame claims and improvement is not beyond either, but for today we'll take Distiller to score.
