Verdict

Spanish Gold shaped with promise on her All-Weather debut when runner-up to Camille Pissarro here earlier this month. She had previously gone off a well supported favourite for a maiden at Newbury on her racecourse debut last year, so she must have shown connections something at home. A half-sister to both Bold King and Bold Raider, she, like that pair, can do better as she gets older. Paul Cole, who supplied Camille Pissarro, can take this with Raoul Dufy, who will be all the better for his recent outing here. A half-brother to the smart Musical Dancer, he was very green when chasing home the exposed, but useful sort in African Sahara (rated 74), and he is taken to prove too strong for the filly.
