Citrus Chief deserves to get his head in front having picked up prize-money in each of his last three starts but the colt was well held when last of three at Catterick last time and a chance is taken with Chiff Chaff, who gets the vote ahead of Double Precedent. The last mentioned is qualified for handicaps now after three starts and it may be that Mark Johnston's filly improves for the switch to this grade over a trip that may suit but she is hard to back with confidence on the evidence of those outings as a juvenile. Distant Sunset is not certain to get this far and the Barry Hills-trained gelding may be best watched, while John Dunlop's Credit Slip is another lightly raced colt who may do better now stepped up in trip but has been well held in all three starts as a youngster. Gold Response is more exposed than most and is not certain to stay this far and preference is for Chiff Chaff. Michael Bell's filly showed more ability than the other lightly raced runners and, while yet to show how she has trained on from two to three, she looks the percentage call over a trip that should suit.
