Monsieur Chevalier is not the force of old when a Group class sprinter and runner-up in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at the royal meeting but one thing he does retain is enthusiasm, as evinced by three 2015 successes, all at this venue. He should be in the mix once again. Go Packing Go is the sole unexposed performer on display and receives over a stone from the topweight with his rider's allowance taking into account. He makes his handicap bow here and should continue to progress but the consistent BLACK DAVE is preferred. A solid and reliable performer for David Evans, whose yard remains in good form, he's always gone well at this track and may appreciate the return to a synthetic surface after a series of solid runs on Turf.
