Layla's Dancer landed a claimer at Kempton last month but did even better when just touched off by Gunslinger over 1m2f here on Saturday. It's hard to know what to make of SWEET ORIGIN, who started favourite for a maiden here two weeks ago and won as he liked. It wasn't the best of races but he was impressive enough to give him the nod on his handicap debut. Jeer was in fine form at this time last year winning from higher marks than this but his recent form has been poor and Hallstatt looks a much bigger threat. John Mackie's charge was conceding 15lb to Straversjoy when beaten around three lengths over the C&D in September and has a massive 21lb turnaround with the winner here.
