The consistent Latif gets the verdict over Danger Zone, with Everest and Smart Tiger best of the remainder. Latif has certainly been kept busy, having run six times this year already, and has proved profitable to follow, scoring on three occasions. Although two of those came on the Southwell Fibresand, the five-year-old proved that he can act on the Polytrack by winning here at Wolverhampton in January. He overcame a slow start to be just touched off at Southwell four days ago, and this slightly longer trip will suit. He gets the call over the frustrating Danger Zone who finally returned to winning ways with the aid of cheekpieces at Lingfield 12 days ago. He had the run of the race that day though and will need things to fall right again. Everest is not the force of old but can not be ruled out in this company, while Smart Tiger has time on his side and the assistance of future star James Doyle, but an absence of four months is a worry. All in all, Latif is the safest option.
