Verdict

Marco Botti trained last year's winner and has leading claims in this year's renewal. He's represented by Energia Flavio and SOLAR DEITY (NAP), but the former looks high enough in the weights and the latter is preferred. He needs to reverse latest running with Spes Nostra but can do so with Rob Hornby's 7lb allowance in his favour. Rebellious Guest is good enough to go close if back to his best and Brocklebank ran well behind another Botti runner in Grendisar last week. Gold Trail was a well beaten second at Newmarket when last seen at the track in July and is facing a tough comeback.
