In depth

Verdict

Five of the seven that run here are course and distance winners so it should prove to be a very competitive affair where our selection STEEL CITY BOY can just edge it ahead of Tyrannosaurus Rex and Mandurah. The tip was a 5f winner at Kempton last time out, his first win in just under a year but he has been improving of late and looks capable of following up on that victory here today. The gelding appreciates a good gallop and in this company the race should suit. Tyrannosaurus Rex proved suited by the strong pace last time out and showed a good turn of foot to land his second course and distance win of the year. He's capable of winning again on this surface when things drop his way. Mandurah is a pretty speedy sort and although he hasn't raced since August of last year, his form shows he runs fairly well fresh and he should figure here off a decent mark of 71. Almaty Express and Luscivious are other possibles but in this very competitive handicap we side with Steel City Boy.
